Soaring Engineers

What is Soaring Engineers?

Soaring Engineers is a set of interactive lessons and activities that were designed to introduce kids to engineering and robotics. Soaring Engineers is flexible with student ability and given classroom time, preferably between 1 and 3 hours. Our program is designed for elementary and middle school aged students, and typical Soaring Engineers lessons are run entirely by Power Hawks students and will consist of a design challenge and a small-scale robotics competition, as well as multiple stations that teach basic engineering and physics principles. We have multiple concepts including - but not limited to - simple machines, simple circuits, and design concepts.

We have hosted many different events at multiple schools in the past; building and designing small robots at Edgewater Elementary School, making simple circuits at Old Mill Middle South, creating cotton ball catapults at Crofton Middle School, and more. If you or someone you know would like to be a part of this program and host an event/lesson then you can contact our events coordinator and to start to soar.
