In 2016, the Power Hawks (FRC 1111) lobbied the state government with the backing of Delegate Reznik to provide a state grant for robotics programs which was successfully passed into law. In 2018, FRC Teams 888 and 1111 wanted to lobby for more inclusion and a larger amount of funding, so the Power Hawks started MDAC for this purpose. With help from other FRC and FTC teams in the state, two bills were cross-filed in 2019 and again were successfully passed into law.
