As we dive deeper into the 2025 FRC build season, Week 3 has been an exciting and productive chapter for Team 1111 Power Hawks! We’ve made incredible strides, not just in robot construction, but also in mentoring our next generation of engineers, programmers, and builders.

This week, we’ve successfully completed the frame (or "chassis") of our robot. The foundation is now in place, and it’s all starting to come together. Our team worked meticulously to ensure that the structure is solid, sturdy, and ready for the upcoming mechanisms. It’s the first major milestone that gives us a tangible glimpse into what our robot will look like in competition, and we couldn’t be more excited!

With the chassis complete, we’ve shifted our focus to the mechanism that will hold the coral. Our team has been brainstorming and testing ideas to create a robust and effective system. We’re working hard to ensure it can both efficiently grasp and release the coral with precision, making sure we’re ready for every scenario when we hit the competition field. The integration of this mechanism with the rest of the robot’s design is a key challenge, but our team is committed to ensuring that everything operates seamlessly.

Another big win this week—our wheels are officially built! With the drive system nearly complete, we’re looking forward to testing the robot’s mobility. Getting the wheels in place is a critical step, and it means we’re one step closer to seeing the robot in motion, gliding across the field with precision. The team is already anticipating the first test runs, and we’re eager to see how our designs perform in real-time conditions.

Beyond the robot, Week 3 has been all about sharing knowledge. We’ve been mentoring our younger members in coding and pneumatics, ensuring they’re developing the skills they need to thrive in future seasons. Our experienced team members have been leading practice sessions, guiding the rookies through coding exercises and teaching them the ins and outs of pneumatics. Watching them grow in their roles and develop a deeper understanding of the system has been incredibly rewarding. It’s all about passing down the knowledge and ensuring that Power Hawks continue to soar for years to come.

With Week 3 in the books, we’re excited for what’s to come. We’ve made great progress on the robot, and our focus will now shift toward fine-tuning and testing the individual systems. As always, our team is working together to overcome challenges, learn from each other, and push towards a successful competition season.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build, mentor, and soar into Week 4!
