What we do
Soaring Engineers is a set of interactive lessons and activities that were designed to introduce kids to engineering and robotics. Soaring Engineers is flexible with given classroom time, preferably between 1 and 3 hours, and student's ability. Our program is designed for elementary and middle school aged students. A typical Soaring Engineers lesson is run entirely by Power Hawks students and will consist of a design challenge and a small-scale robotics competition, as well as multiple stations that teach basic engineering and physics principles. We have multiple concepts such as simple machines, simple circuits, design concepts, and more.
We have hosted many different events at multiple schools in the past; building and designing small robots at Edgewater Elementary School, making simple circuits at Old Mill Middle South, creating cotton ball catapults at Crofton Middle School, and more!
