About The Power Hawks

The Power Hawks, FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) Team 1111, is composed of about 30 high school students. The team, with the collaboration and oversight of mentors, spends up to 6 weeks designing and building a robot for competition. The robot is made up of complex and creative structures, weighing up to 125 pounds. The team has student executive leadership and a variety of sub teams that cover topics like: design, controls, fabrication, finance, public relations and events. Over the course of the robotics season, students acquire significant experience in hands-on design and engineering. The students also gain knowledge in many skills related to leadership, teamwork, finance, media, event planning and outreach. Participants of the robotics program are likely to pursue science, technology, engineering, math, engineering, and business careers.
